Shayan Ahmed Khan (UOL First Class Distinction Holder 2017)

After graduating from SIL, I began my career at the Research Society of International Law, where I worked until 2021 before moving for my LLM at Harvard Law School. Following my admission to the New York Bar, I worked at the International Committee of the Red Cross’ Delegation to the United Nations, the International Disputes Unit of the Office of the Attorney General for Pakistan, and the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague.

I am currently working as an Associate in the International Arbitration practice at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, where I specialize in inter-state, investor-state and international commercial disputes.

I remain deeply grateful to SIL’s faculty, and especially to Ma’am Nida, for the invaluable guidance and support during my LLB, without which I would not have been able to secure a First Class Honours, and for their continued encouragement thereafter.
