SIL High Achievers / Alumni

Raheel Ahmed

I manage an Islamabad based full service law firm. I am advising and representing private and public sector clients in matters related to civil, constitutional and international commercial arbitration.
I served as a Legislative Advisor to the National Assembly of Pakistan and, in this role, I have drafted multiple legal instruments including the Contempt of Parliament bill, which was passed by both Houses of Parliament. I have drafted a number of Amendment Acts as well as Policies/Rules for array of public sector organisations, leading state-owned oil and gas companies and foreign diplomatic mission in Pakistan.
I also serve as an Advisor to the Chairman of Pakistan Engineering Council to advise in legal and policy matters. In a major achievement of my role as an Advisor, I have recently help establish a specialised construction arbitration centre, which will be the first of its kind in South Asia, in collaboration with Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK.
I thank Allah, my parents and SIL, particularly Ma’am Nida and Sir Sikander for enabling me to navigate my path as a human being as well as a professional. The success of any institution is foremost gauged, in my opinion, with the efforts and resources that it directs to the positive growth of their students as a human being first. To that end, SIL stands unparalleled by any scale. May Allah bless Ma’am Nida and Sir Sikander for all that they have done for me and us, which cannot be explained in words.
